Impressive Run for Sweet in Michigan

Brad Sweet drove what many considered to be his most impressive stock car race to date en route to tying his career-best finish of sixth. Sweet raced among the top-10 cars for much of the day and remained level-headed despite running out of fuel at lap 40 and falling a lap down. With help from crew chief Mike Bumgarner and spotter Kevin Hamlin, Sweet earned the free pass at lap 80 and wasted little time climbing back into the top 10. Sweet raced his No. 5 Great Clips Chevrolet to as high as fourth in the final 20 laps while battling with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series veterans Kyle Busch and Paul Menard.

Brad Sweet, driver No. 5 Great Clips Chevrolet
“I’m really excited with how we ran today. The Great Clips Chevy was really strong and I feel like we probably could have got fourth or fifth with how good we were there at the end. It was a great job all around by the team, from qualifying sixth to racing so well. Congratulations to Regan and the seven guys. Our teams are really working well together and it’s making both our cars a lot better.”
